The “Delta Dunării” Airport in Tulcea has undergone a major modernization process, including the expansion of the passenger terminal, upgrades to the boarding–deboarding platform and the Alfa taxiway, as well as the construction of a dedicated aircraft de-icing platform. The new 9,300‑sqm infrastructure now features modern control systems, 5 check-in counters, 3 boarding gates and dedicated facilities for the border police, with a total investment of approximately 30 million euros. The project was completed in about a year and a half, despite a major challenge: building the terminal around the control tower without disrupting operational activity.
