Heatwave days can affect our teams working on construction sites. Exposure to high temperatures can lead to heat exhaustion, heatstroke, and other health problems. Working in extreme heat can be very dangerous and requires appropriate precautionary measures to minimize risks.
We recommend that our colleagues:
➡️ reduce the intensity and pace of physical activities;
➡️ alternate dynamic effort with static effort;
➡️ alternate working periods with rest breaks in shaded, well-ventilated areas;
➡️ provide first aid and transport to the nearest medical facility for persons affected by extreme heat;
➡️ adjust the work schedule, where applicable, into two daily periods: until 11:00 and after 17:00.
In addition, a collective work stoppage may be implemented, while ensuring continuity of activity on sites where work cannot be interrupted, in accordance with legal provisions.
Our colleagues will be supplied with special medicines needed for emergency assistance in such cases, especially oral rehydration salts. We also ensure that every employee has access to water—at least 2–4 liters per day.
Site managers and team leaders will identify and designate the areas where the risk of fire increases under conditions of high atmospheric temperatures and lack of precipitation.
They will prohibit the use of open flames in areas affected by advanced dryness.
Restrictions will be considered, during certain intervals of the day, for works that create favorable conditions for fires through the release of volatile substances or excessive overheating.
On construction sites, we ensure protection from direct sunlight for containers, tanks, and other types of packaging that contain flammable vapors or liquefied gases under pressure (by storing them in the shade), as well as daily checks of the water reserves for firefighting.

For AmCham Romania, 2023 is an anniversary year.
Thirty years of development of Romania’s business environment were marked on America’s Day, on July 4, at the Diplomatic Club, at an event that brought together over 1,000 people.
AmCham is a trusted partner of the Romanian business community and has consistently contributed to the development of Romanian-American relations.
Concelex attended the event and celebrated the partnership with AmCham together with partners, friends, and colleagues.

The American Chamber of Commerce in Romania turns 30 this year. In his message, Concelex President Daniel Pițurlea welcomes the partnership our company has with AmCham Romania: “The 30 years of steady evolution of the American Chamber of Commerce in Romania coincide with the 30 years of Concelex’s existence. Both of us share the same goal—Romania’s sustainable development. We, Concelex, are focused on excellence in construction, just as AmCham works to continuously improve the business environment.”
Happy anniversary, AmCham!

Students from the Technical University of Civil Engineering of Bucharest (UTCB) have the opportunity to improve their knowledge and skills by completing an internship through #practicapebune @ Concelex.
They are thus starting a new stage that is essential to their professional training. #practicapebune helps them put theoretical knowledge into practice in a real working environment.
The internship at Concelex offers students the chance to understand the practical processes behind a construction plan. Students can experience and practice various techniques and methods, be involved in different projects—from residential and commercial buildings to infrastructure works—and work alongside experienced professionals in the field.
During the internship, students can gain practical skills such as reading and interpreting construction plans, using specific equipment and tools, and learning site safety techniques. They may also have the opportunity to collaborate with different work teams and understand the process of coordinating and managing construction projects.
An internship at Concelex also helps students build professional relationships, which can facilitate future employment opportunities. In addition, this hands-on experience can provide a clearer perspective on a career in construction and help strengthen their decision to specialize in this field.
Through internships at Concelex, UTCB students can gain confidence in their abilities and become more familiar with the specific requirements and responsibilities of the industry. This experience can give them a competitive advantage on the job market and contribute to building a solid foundation for a successful career in the field.

CONCELEX: Development goals based on digitalization and the evolution of human resources
“We foresee an increase in turnover. We will continue to invest in human resources, strengthen our team with construction professionals—people of high quality—and also invest in machinery and equipment that will make project execution more efficient,” assures us Cătălin Vișan, Executive Director of Concelex.
Concelex is one of the most dynamic construction companies at the moment, with the company’s annual turnover in 2022 reaching 500 million lei.
“If we look only at the contracts we currently have under execution and their completion deadlines, without taking into account the possibility of contracting new projects, this year we will have to produce more than the previous one. Taking this into account, we forecast an increase in turnover. We will continue to invest in human resources, strengthen our team with construction professionals—people of high human quality—as well as in the machinery and necessary equipment that will make project execution more efficient. If we look at the value of contracts concluded recently and the large number of tenders in the market, based on funding from European funds, the PNRR, or the state budget, we estimate that the industry will maintain an upward trend. Added to this is the development appetite of private investors. The last few years have been marked by unpredictability from an economic, health, and security standpoint. We want the war in Ukraine to end and thus see a balancing of prices on the energy market, so that there is predictability regarding the costs of materials and services,” Cătălin Vișan added.

There is a say – ” Scientists dream about doing great things. Engineers do them”. To Concelex, this is the mission we consider the construction sector should assume on a long-term – not only erecting buildings, but changing the visual identity of the city. Our largest challenge is related to industry’s development and we intend to be actively involved so that construction companies become more blue chip.

Local construction group Concelex has eased the impact of the health crisis on its operations by taking part in several public tenders to make up for the decreasing business in some sectors. Following this strategic move, the company grew its turnover by 28 percent year-on-year in the first semester; in 2019, the overall turnover came close to RON 400 million.
